The Jackson County School District is seeking community members and parents to serve on the district wellness policy committee. We recognize that healthy students are better prepared to learn and succeed in school. The wellness committee will focus on developing and advancing the district wellness policy in order to create a healthier school environment focused on improving health and wellness outcomes for school children and staff.

If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Jennifer Pritchett, CNP Director, at 256-259-9511; [email protected] for additional information.

Linq Connect Online Payment Option for Ala Carte Items:

Due to the Jackson County School District’s adoption of the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), one reimbursable meal for breakfast and lunch will be available at no cost to all enrolled students in our district each day.

However, students will NOT be allowed to charge for second meals or a la carte items. Adults and employees will also NOT be allowed to charge meals and/or a la carte items through the Child Nutrition Program. All adults are expected to have money on their account or their child’s account before purchasing a meal in the cafeteria. Therefore, no charges should occur within the Child Nutrition Program.

To make it easy for parents to view charges and get notified of low balances, we have partnered with Linq School Solutions. There is no charge for parents to create an account. You can monitor your student’s transactions as well as receive emails regarding low student meal balances by visiting:

https://linqconnect.com/

Jackson County offers three options for a parent to fund their student’s account:

1. Pay online through Linq Connect

2. Send cash in an envelope with Child’s Name and Grade

3. Checks made out to Jackson County Child Nutrition Program/School Name Lunchroom

Pay your school fees and add money to meal accounts from anywhere, any time.
