Mission Hope Cebu TEFL English School – Paknaan Cebu, Philippines | 📚✨📖 Great Start to a New Semester at the MHC English School! It was a fun and encouraging first day back as we began the new semester with a review focused on speaking and class discussion. The students practiced introductions, participated in question-and-answer interviews, and worked on giving directions in English.
Midway through class, we had a brownout, something that has become a regular part of life here in the Philippines. But our students persevered! 💪 With some backup lighting, we kept the class going and didn’t let a little darkness stop us from learning. 😊
We ended the day with a fun “Lost in Cebu” map activity, where the students listened to directions and tried to find different locations on the map. 🗺️
It was a wonderful way to start the semester; full of learning, laughter, participation, and perseverance. I’m thankful to God for the opportunity and privilege to serve these young people and be part of their life journey. 🙏❤️

MHC Children’s Bible Study Program — Paknaan Cebu, Philippines | 8.29.26. Another amazing and fun filled week at the MHC Children’s Bible Study! ❤️ 🇵🇭 We continued our journey through the Beatitudes with Matthew 5:5: “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” We focused on what it really means to be meek, not weak, and having strength under control. 💪❤️ We challenged the students through fun games and activities that helped them see that true strength isn’t always about being the strongest or winning. Sometimes the greatest strength is having humble self-control to stop, think, and choose the right response. We laughed, played, learned, and most importantly, connected God’s Word to everyday life.
It is such an honor and privilege to serve these children and to be part of what God is doing here in the Philippines. I am continually thankful for His plan and calling to serve and give to these precious children. ❤️ 🙌 🙏🏻✨ 🕊️

MHC Children’s Bible Study Program — Paknaan Cebu, Philippines | 8.22.26. Another amazing and blessed week with the MHC Children’s Bible Study! ❤️ This week we continued our study of the Beatitudes with Matthew 5:4: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” We began with a special craft activity, “I Need God” hand tracing, reminding the children that when we are hurting, sad, or in need of comfort, we can always turn to God. 🙏 We then put the lesson into action with a fun game called “Wrap Our Person in Need of Comfort with Love.” The children worked together to gently wrap their teammate, representing someone who is hurting, with love and comfort. It was a fun way to help them understand that God comforts us and that WE can also be a source of comfort and love to others. GOD COMFORTS ME ❤️ → I COMFORT OTHERS ❤️ “God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that WE can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ❤️ 🙌 🙏🏻✨ 🕊️

This week at Mission Hope Cebu, we introduced the students to a new song, “The More We Get Together.” It is a simple children’s song, but its message is something I believe we all need to hear, ‘the more we come together, the happier we can be, because your friends are my friends and my friends are your friends”
We learned to sign the song using American Sign Language (ASL), that made the song even more meaningful to me as we remembered Kaylee Hottle, the young Deaf actress who tragically passed away last month at only 18 years old. Kaylee was a native ASL user and became an inspiration to many through her work in movies and her representation of the Deaf community.
I thought it would be a beautiful way for our children to honor her memory, not through sadness, but through friendship, inclusion, communication, and coming together.
We may speak different languages, come from different places, or communicate in different ways, but friendship has a way of bringing us together. ❤️
And most importantly, as we teach our children through God’s Word, we are reminded that every person is valuable and created in God’s image.
The more we get together, the happier we’ll be! ❤️ 🙌 🙏🏻✨ 🕊️

MHC Children’s Bible Study Program — Paknaan Cebu, Philippines | 8.15.26.
Wow! What a blessed week of ministry! 🙏 The children and I had so much fun learning from our Matthew 5:3 Bible study lesson, and playing our games, that we actually ran out of time for our hand craft! So, I’m saving that one for next week.
We also had a Fruit of the Spirit memory verse refresher quiz, and I was so proud of the students! Seven students were able to recite the entire verses of Galatians 5:22–23, so they each received a special gold coin as a small reward for their hard work. 🪙❤️
It is such a blessing to watch these children learn, participate, laugh, and grow in their understanding of God’s Word.
We also introduced a new worship song, which I’ll share more about in another post later this week. 🎶🙏
I am so thankful to God for the opportunity and privilege to serve these children and community. What a blessing it is to be here and be part of what God is doing in their lives. ❤️ 🙌 🙏🏻✨ 🕊️

Thank you for a Blessed Welcome Back to the Paknaan Cebu MHC Ministry! ❤️🙏 It’s truly an honor and privilege to serve in the Philippines, and I continually thank God for His plan that allows me to be part of the lives of these incredible children. Today was such a blessed welcome back to the ministry! The students had created a special “Welcome Back” banner for our return. Seeing their excitement and love was a wonderful reminder of why this ministry is so special. ❤️
It’s incredible to look back and see how God has been working His plan through Mission Hope Cebu for the past 13 years. Through the challenges, changes, and blessings, God has continued to open doors and bring incredible children and young people into our lives that our family. I am truly blessed and grateful to be part of their journey.
Today we began a new Bible study series as we started looking at Matthew 5:1–2 and introduced the children to Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and the Beatitudes.
Over the coming weeks, we will explore what Jesus taught about in His Sermon on the Mount and what it looks like to become a true follower of Jesus, not simply by what we say, but how we live out our lives in love, service and treatment of others. ❤️ 🙌 🙏🏻✨ 🕊️

Mission Hope Cebu teens enjoyed a special outing to SM Seaside City Cebu! ❤️ These moments are about more than just having fun, they help build friendships, encourage one another in Christ, and remind our young people that they are loved and valued. We are so thankful for our faithful MHC leaders who invested their time to make this day possible and for everyone who supports this ministry.

Mission Hope Cebu Bible Study Children’s Program — Ministry Update from Paknaan, Cebu 🇵🇭❤️. This week our Children’s Bible Study focused on the beautiful story of Abraham and Sarah. Even when everything seemed impossible, God remained faithful to His promise and blessed them with their long-awaited son, Isaac. The children learned that God’s timing is always perfect and that we can trust Him even when we have to wait.
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” — Genesis 18:14
As the new school year begins, we were also blessed to continue providing school supplies to more of our students. None of this would be possible without our faithful friends and partners in the USA. Your prayers, generosity, and encouragement allow us to continue sharing God’s Word, providing practical support, and investing in the lives of these precious children. Thank you for being part of what God is doing in Cebu, Philippines 🇵🇭. Together, we are planting seeds of faith, hope, and education that will impact generations to come. ❤️ 🙌 🙏🏻✨ 🕊️

Our Bible study children’s program continues to be a wonderful blessing as we teach God’s Word, share fellowship meals, and encourage the children in their faith. As the New School Semester begins, we were able to provide school supplies to help prepare them for their return to the classroom. Thank you to our faithful teachers and students! Mission Hope Cebu TEFL English School – Paknaan Cebu, Philippines | 📚✨📖 Our students continue faithfully in their studies, learning important life skills through shopping, clothing, reading, and practical English lessons. They learned how to identify different types of clothing, ask questions about sizes and prices, and participate in everyday shopping conversations. We are proud of their hard work and progress as they continue building skills that will help prepare them for college and future employment opportunities.
