Happy Birthday Mom-I'm early for once!
Happy Birthday Mom! This picture reminds me of the first time I realized just how vulnerable being a mom makes you!
I miss you so much. You've been suffering from dementia for so long, and I am so sorry. In the past few years you've tried to remain as present as you can when I visit, and I want you to know that I see you. I don't know how much longer you'll be with us and that makes me sad.
I miss who you were. How you would tell that all I needed was just a little more sleep.(Believe me, I've been chasing that 'little more sleep' for years!) You worked so hard all of your life to get it right. You noticed everyone's kindness and were the first one to write a thank you note. You volunteered to help others in so many ways. You were fierce and not afraid to speak your mind! (I'm getting more like you in that way everyday) You and I have had our moments, and I thank you for challenging me and encouraging me to find what makes me happy and to settle for nothing less than the best. Thanks to you, Gram and DeeDee I know the art of shopping and delight in it! Robin and I are helping the economy as much as we can. I'm grateful for the strong backbone you helped me to create and the tender heart I have to share with others.
My wish for you is peace and for you to feel all of the love Mike, Robin, Dad and I have for you. Dad is taking such good care of you! I know we'll reunite on the other side of this life and I look forward to seeing you healed, happy and healthy.
