Leadership is not built from theory alone. It is shaped by experience, tested under pressure, and strengthened when leaders are willing to learn from both.
On August 4, 2026, 38 leaders from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office participated in the 50 Laws of RUSTIC Leadership Workshop.
Led by MAGNUS instructors Justin King and David Zibolski, participants explored how their own experiences, challenges, setbacks, and successes can become powerful tools for leading others more effectively.
Strong leadership is not about hiding the hard chapters. It is about learning from them and using those lessons to shape how we serve, communicate, and lead.
Special thanks to Sheriff Sid Gautreaux, Major Willie Stewart, and the entire East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office team for investing in the growth of their leaders.

Leadership failures rarely happen in a moment.
They happen when small compromises go unaddressed.
When accountability becomes inconsistent.
When standards drift.
When leaders stop developing themselves while trying to lead others.
The strongest organizations are built by leaders who invest in their own growth before they ask others to do the same.
This August, join Chief Jeremy Story and Justin King for the MAGNUS Leadership Program hosted by the Las Cruces Police Department.
Over four intensive days, participants will learn how to:
• Lead themselves before leading others
• Build habits that drive peak performance
• Strengthen resilience and elasticity under pressure
• Improve decision-making in complex environments
• Move from GREAT to MAGNUS
Great organizations do not happen by accident.
