♥️💙 Always a Patriot. Always Our Janie Girl. ♥️💙

Five years ago, we said goodbye to our favorite little Patriot cheerleader, Janie Branch.

Janie was only three years old when she left this world, but somehow, in those three short years, she left a mark that a lifetime could not have made. She taught us the healing power of a giggle, how to love our friends fiercely, how to savor sweet treats—even with sticky hands—and that purple really is the best color. She reminded us that unicorns are the coolest and that joy can shine in even the smallest moments.

Five years feels impossible. She has now been gone longer than she got to be here, and yet she has never really felt gone from us. We think of her every single day. We see pieces of her in the little things—in a laugh, a favorite color, a sweet treat, a unicorn, a child cheering from the sidelines. Her life was far too short, but her impact has never been.

In knowing Janie, we knew pure joy. In losing Janie, we learned the depth of grief. And in the years since, we have learned that love doesn’t end when a life does. It simply finds a different way to stay.

To Bruce, Abby, Britton, and Wills: please know that your Patriot family still remembers your girl. We still say her name. We still celebrate who she was. We still carry her with us. And we still hold each of you so very close in our hearts.

Five years later, Janie is still a part of who we are at Marshall Academy. Still loved. Still remembered. Still our girl.
