🎉 Congratulations to our Instructional Assistant of the Year, Jamie Oddoye! 🎉

We are thrilled to celebrate Jamie Oddoye as Holly Grove Elementary School’s Instructional Assistant of the Year! 💜🧡

A graduate of North Carolina State University, Jamie has worked in education for more than a decade. From serving as a substitute teacher in local Wake County schools and volunteering at countless school events to now supporting our Special Programs students, Jamie has dedicated her career to helping students feel seen, supported, and valued.

Jamie believes in meeting students where they are and tailoring her support to meet each child’s individual needs. She leads with kindness, compassion, and acceptance, always believing there is a place for every student in the classroom. Her greatest joy is helping students discover a genuine love of learning.

And anyone who knows Jamie knows that her Wolfpack pride runs deep! 🐺 Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, cheering from the sidelines, and coaching youth sports.

Jamie shared, “To my students, thank you for showing up every day, working hard, and allowing me the privilege of learning and growing alongside you. Being part of your journey is something I never take for granted.”

Jamie, we are so lucky to have you as a Holly Grove Hedgehog! Your compassion, dedication, and commitment to our students make a difference every single day. Thank you for all you do for our students, families, and staff.

🎉 Congratulations to our 2026–2027 Holly Grove Elementary Teacher of the Year, Lauren Knapp! 🎉

We are thrilled to celebrate Mrs. Knapp and this well-deserved recognition!

Originally from the small town of Sparta, New Jersey, Lauren moved to North Carolina to attend East Carolina University, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading. After graduation, she began her teaching career in third grade and has had the opportunity to teach first, second, fifth, and fourth grades. She’s grateful to have found her home in fourth grade!

Lauren has called Holly Springs home since 2014 and is beginning her 17th year in education and her 8th year at Holly Grove Elementary. She is also a proud Holly Grove parent to two sons, one in fifth grade and one in third grade. When she’s not at school, you can likely find her cheering from the sidelines or coaching at one of her sons’ sporting events.

One of Lauren’s favorite parts of teaching is building meaningful relationships with her students, watching them grow, and knowing that those connections can extend far beyond the classroom. She especially loves seeing her former students become confident, successful adults and feels fortunate to have played even a small part in their journeys.

Lauren shared, “I am incredibly grateful to be part of the Holly Grove community and truly honored and humbled to be recognized as Teacher of the Year. This recognition means so much to me, and I feel fortunate to work alongside such an amazing school community.”

We are so fortunate to have Lauren as part of our Holly Grove family. Her dedication to her students, commitment to relationships, and love for our school community make her an incredible example of what it means to be a Holly Grove teacher.

In honor of 9/11, our third graders wrote heartfelt letters to the Holly Springs Police North Carolina and Holly Springs Fire Department, thanking our local first responders for their service and dedication to our community. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Today fifth graders extended their lessons about the human body to interact with health science professionals. They learned about nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, PAs, medical imaging, dentistry, and public health! A special thank you to Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and WakeMed Health & Hospitals (Cary) for letting us tap into your amazing staff!

📣 Morning Club Drop-Off Reminder

If you are bringing your child to a morning club and need to wait before regular school-day arrival, please pull into the main parking lot and park in a spot (not the area directly in front of the school) and wait there until 8:30.

At 8:30, you may line up for regular arrival.

This small change will help keep the carpool line moving smoothly and make things easier for everyone.
