Great Leaps Tutor

Hi! I’m Carrie Parrick and I’ve had a long career working with kids to improve their reading primarily as a Reading Specialist and Special Education Teacher. I have a degree in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in Learning Disabilities and Special Education from North Carolina State University. I’ve taught reading at all levels- elementary, middle, and high school. I’m a mom of two teenage boys and a dog and cat. My dog, Lex,i is a rescued tri-paw German Shepherd. She is very special and helps make our family life lots of fun! I’ve been fortunate enough to work with the Great Leaps program since 2009. I’ve seen what it can do to help students improve all areas of reading and in record time! I hope to get the opportunity to help build your child’s confidence and learn to love reading as much as I do.
