This week our black belt life is PATIENCE
Patience means to take your time, wait your turn, and not rush.
At home, you take your time and put things away the right way. At school, you wait your turn and don’t rush completing your schoolwork. At martial arts, you take your time and don’t rush so you can improve your skills.

This week our Black Belt Life Skill is FOCUS!!!
We have 3 different kinds of focus that we use everyday.
Eye focus is looking at what you’re doing, looking at who is talking, and listening at the same time.
Body focus is controlling your body, knowing when to move and when not to.
Mind focus is thinking about what you’re doing are doing while you do it.
How do you use focus?

This week our Black Belt Life Skill is SELF CONTROL!
Self Control means knowing when to move and when not to. If you are in class, you use your self control to sit still and listen to the teacher.
Self Control also means to control your mind and actions. You can use your self control to focus on your homework instead of thinking about video games. Instead of eating a lot of junk food, you only eat one piece.
How do you use Self Control?

This week our Black Belt Life Skill is PERSEVERANCE!
Perseverance means to never give up and always try your best. Once you set a goal, you cannot give up even if you’re tired or you hungry, you have to continue to try your best.
At school, if you give up, you can’t learn something new. You can ask for help and keep practicing to show your perseverance.
How have you used perseverance recently?
