Founded in 1984, Christian Family Daycare and Preschool was started by Dolores Russell in the basement of her Holliston home. Her goal was not only to promote a safe and happy environment in which children experience the joy of learning but to share her Christian view that we should love God and one another. As her preschool grew, Dolores became trained in and adopted the Montessori Method for edu

cating children. Michael's church in Holliston and renamed it Christian Family Montessori School. Christian Family Montessori School is proud to offer quality education for children ages 2.9 through 6 years old who live in Holliston, Hopkinton, Ashland, Milford and other surrounding towns. Our staff works hard to provide a warm and loving environment in which the children can develop their confidence and independence. Our curriculum is based on the Montessori Method of teaching and includes Everyday Living, Sensorial, Math and Language materials based on that method. We also focus on Science, Geography, Cultural Studies and Grace & Courtesy lessons. CFMS also provides a more advanced Kindergarten program for children who are 5 years old by September 1st of the current school year. This program utilizes enriched Math and Language materials, offers a more comprehensive Literature program and focuses on teaching for understanding as opposed to memorizing facts. At CFMS we offer the following programs:
* Full-day 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
* Half-day 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

In our Christian Montessori classroom, the children recently explored seeds and planting by growing their own wheatgrass, patiently watching new life emerge 🌱

As we prepared for Easter, they added small crosses made from sticks—connecting this growth and nature to the meaning of the season ✝️

This simple project reflects what we love most: nurturing faith, curiosity, and hands-on learning together 💚

In Montessori math, children don’t just memorize numbers—they build them. In this activity, called Fetching with the Bank, a student gathers unit beads, ten bars, hundred squares, and thousand cubes to physically construct the number shown on the cards.
