🦖 Stomp, Roar, and Explore—It’s Dinosaur Time! 🦕

Our preschoolers are kicking off an exciting Dinosaur Unit next week! Get ready for a prehistoric adventure filled with hands-on learning, imagination, and discovery. Here are some dino-mite activities we have planned:

🌋 Dinosaur Dig – Excavating “fossils” like real paleontologists!
🎨 Dino Tracks & Fossil Making – Creating footprints and fossils with clay.
📚 Dinosaur Storytime – Reading fun books all about our favorite dinos.
🔍 Sorting & Matching – Using dinosaur-themed sensory bins to practice colors, sizes, and counting.
🦴 Dino Skeleton Building – Using loose parts to construct our own dinosaur bones!
🌿 Herbivores vs. Carnivores – Learning what different dinosaurs ate and sorting food types.

🌟 Making Transitions Easier for Kids! 🌟

Transitions—like moving from playtime to clean-up or from one activity to the next—can be tricky for little ones! But with a few simple strategies, we can make them smoother and more fun. Here’s how:

⏳ Give Warnings – A little heads-up goes a long way! Try:
🗣 “In 5 minutes, we’ll clean up and head outside.”
🎶 Use a timer or a special song to signal a change.

🎵 Use a Transition Song – Music makes everything easier! Try:
🧹 “Clean-up, clean-up, everybody do your share!”
🦕 “Dinosaurs, dinosaurs, stomp to the circle time rug!”

👐 Offer Choices – Giving small choices helps kids feel in control:

Seven years ago, she transitioned into center-based education, gaining experience with children of all ages—from infants to our lively preschoolers.
