The primary objective of the YKO program is to assure that every child feels safe, secure, and comfortable with him/herself, with peers, and with group activities. Activities in the YKO group are especially designed to help the children practice and expand upon their fine and gross motor skills and their creative thinking skills. As the YKO children explore creative units through arts and crafts,

science, dramatic, play, music, recreation, etc.; special emphasis will be placed on the development of social skills. In addition, the K1 and K2 programs provide a small group atmosphere wherein the children receive nurturing support as they learn new social, recreational, and creative skills and build upon those that they have. Children in this group learn to be a cooperative part of a group and how to make their own choices.
