Our Very Hungry Caterpillar Mural!

A little look at our BIG project we just completed. This took us over 2 weeks to complete, but it turned out so cute!
This theme comes from the Eric Carle book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". In the book the caterpillar hatches on a leaf, and eats a lot of random food, before wrapping itself into a cocoon and blossoming into a beautiful butterfly. This is one of my favorite spring units and it tied in so perfectly to the hatching of 5 butterflies that were then released just outside our building.

Watch to the end to see our excitement as we watch a butterfy still inside it's chrysalis (cacoon) moving like crazy! It hadn't broke out before we left school Friday, but I fully expect it to be hatched and fluttering around when we return to school. 🦋

Our class was able to take part in a Butterfly release Friday. Mrs Chinn had already released a few, and we were able to release some of her late bloomers. 🦋
