We are excited about hosting Musical Theatre Workshops with Guest Artist, Nancy Hoffmann-Ge**er who is coming to Hollis! Full Bio:
Nancy Hoffmann Ge**er’s experience, skill and sensitivity as a teacher, and coach allow her to bring out the very best in her students to help them develop their gifts and shine. She created the role of "Nancy Nervosamente" in the world premiere of her late husband, Stephen E. Ge**er (Librettist) and Lawrence Wolfe's SUITE DREAMS! with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Robert Spano where she had the opportunity to perform it many times. Since that time, she has performed SUITE DREAMS! with the Georgetown (DC) Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, New England Conservatory Orchestra, New Life Symphony Orchestra and the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra. Nancy has performed as a soloist with the Boston Civic Symphony, Lexington Symphony, Wellesley Symphony Orchestra and Boston Symphony Orchestra (Maestro Grant Llewllyn) where she premiered another new work titled, WHAT IF? Her most recent solo appearance was with the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Max Hobart. Her television credits include ABC's One Life To Live and Ryan's Hope. Nancy has done numerous regional, national radio and television commercials. On the professional stage, she has performed a wide range of characters from Monica (I Love My Wife, with Scott Bakula), Velma (Chicago), Desiree (A little Night Music), Adelaide (Guys and Dolls), toured as Molly (The Unsinkable Molly Brown), toured with Taft Broadcasting, and dozens more. In NYC, she directed for Cabaret and Cable TV, she was Choreographer for Holiday Cruise International (New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Florida) and performed with the Musical Theatre Works, off-broadway and cabaret where she premiered A Family By Any Other Name as a co-writer. Locally, she was a long time member of the Boston cast of Forbidden Broadway, directed by Gerard Allessandrini and at the Charles Playhouse, played the role of Rhetta Cupp (Pump Boys and Dinettes), and was featured soloist in the Rodgers and Hammerstein r***e Some Enchanted Evening, at the Firehouse Theatre in Newburyport. The production of Suddenly On Christmas Eve is her most cherished work. Suddenly, has been enjoyed by thousands of people in the New England area. Along with her professional career, she is much in demand as a private teacher and coach of singing and acting. Her specialty is her ability to prepare students for auditions from the middle school level to community theatre to college preparation and on to the professional stage. Her students have been accepted at Tisch NYU, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, The University of Michigan, Pace University, Penn State, Emerson, The Hartt School, Ithaca, Oberlin Conservatory, and Syracuse. Nancy is an alumna of the U of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music.
