News about St. Gerard's today, from Genie Rudmann of Rudmann's Pharmacy:
.. the school was closed by a former pastor.
We have a young pastor who is doing great things with the young folks. He took a group to World Youth Day past year and is working on the 2013 trip. He has had the parking lot rebuilt and blacktopped, a ramp built for handicapped and a unisex bathroom put on the first floor. All of this is made possible by the rent coming in from the Cambria Height's Academy occupying the school. He has also brought back all the old statues, refurbished and candle stands. One of his problems is that the academy only has a two year lease and the city wants to move it to a public school site, 2013. Parents are not happy. Another problem he has is that Catholic Charities moved out of the convent, unexpectedly. Both these things impact his budget.
