🎉 Happy Birthday, Maestro Roberto! 🎉

Two years ago, I met Roberto, a professor from Mexico with a dream of continuing his passion for education here in Michigan. At the time, we had a mountain of work ahead validating credentials, earning his Michigan teaching license, and learning English.

Two years later, he is learning English, licensed in Michigan, and living his dream in the classroom. Our students and families love him, and we are incredibly grateful to have him at HLA. ❤️

Today, we celebrate Roberto in true HLA fashion! 🎂🎉 This is what HLA is all about believing in people, walking alongside one another, celebrating the journey, and becoming family along the way. ❤️🤍

¡Feliz cumpleaños, Roberto! We are so grateful you are part of our HLA familia.

This photo says so much about HLA, community, pride, joy, and people who show up and show out. ❤️🤍

HLA has always been more than a school. It is a community. It is our second home. It’s a place where we learn, where we grow, where we fall and get back up, where we make mistakes, and where we celebrate one another as we thrive.

This picture may be from years ago (2016), but the heart of HLA hasn’t changed. Our families show up. Our students show up. Our staff show up. We show up for one another.

And this year will be no exception. Our HLA community is strong, proud, and full of heart. ❤️
