Emma Johnson and Lindsay Lane (both graduated in 2022) alongside Dr. Adam Coughlin from SVSU at the ACSM conference. They presented research they performed with Dr. Coughlin and Dr. Maureen Dunn on the physiologic responses to rock climbing.

Dr. Brian Rider presented at the ACSM conference. This was research done in collaboration with Dr. Kirk Brumels and Hope students Ana Tucker, Jolie LaBarge, and Madeline Moore. They examined the accuracy of different smart watches for measuring HR during exercise.

Dr. Ferrara presented her work on the "Temporal Changes to Fitness Perceptions and Exercise Satisfaction of Former High School Athletes Entering College" at the ACSM conference. She worked with Hope students, Alec Kowalski and Sophia Rosiek.

Hope grad Kyle Reason successfully defended his dissertation, titled "Effects of Virtual Interactive Cycling on Perceived Duration and Exercise Enjoyment in Sedentary Adults"

Kyle will make history as the first PhD graduate from the University of North Alabama's kinesiology program. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Kory Lafont who has been awarded a McKnight Doctoral Fellowship that he will use as he pursues a PhD at the University of Central Florida! Way to go!!!!

Established in 1984, FEF's McKnight Doctoral Fellowship Program has awarded more than 1400 Fellowships and increased the number of African Americans and Hispanics who have earned Ph.D.'s in crucial disciplines where members of underrepresented groups have not historically enrolled and completed degree programs.
