☀️📚 ESL End-of-Year Highlights: Beginning Level Edition! 🌮🎶

As we begin sharing some of the fun and exciting ways our ESL classes wrapped up the school year, we're starting with our Beginning Level ESL students!

To celebrate a year of growth and learning, students visited Midtown Center's Tuesday evening food truck and music event. Along the way, they practiced reading menus, ordering food in English, learned new summer and community vocabulary, and enjoyed live music together.

It was the perfect opportunity to put classroom learning into action while enjoying a beautiful Michigan evening. We are so proud of how far these students have come and the confidence they continue to build every day!

🎓✨ The calendar may say school is out, but our graduates are still on the move! ✨🎓

There’s a unique season at Zeeland Adult Education that happens every year—the few weeks between one school year ending and the next beginning.

Our graduation ceremony may have taken place on June 3rd, and our summer classes may not begin until July 7th, but that doesn't mean the success stories stop. In fact, for many of our graduates, this is when the next chapter truly begins. 💙

Some are preparing for college.
Some are enrolling in career training.
Some are pursuing new jobs and promotions.
Some are continuing their education.
And all of them are proving that earning a GED, High School Diploma, ESL milestone, or certification wasn't the finish line—it was the launch pad. 🚀

As we reflect on another incredible year, we're reminded that the true measure of success isn't just what happens in the classroom. It's the confidence gained, the goals achieved, and the futures being rewritten long after graduation day.

To our recent graduates: Keep going. Keep growing. Keep chasing those dreams. We are so proud of all you have accomplished and even more excited for what comes next.

And before you know it, we'll be welcoming students back for another amazing year beginning July 7th! 📚🌟

As we close the chapter on another incredible year at Zeeland Adult Education, our hearts are full of gratitude, pride, and excitement for what lies ahead.

This past week's Graduation Ceremony was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. Watching our GED graduates, High School Diploma completers, ESL students, and Special Programs certification earners celebrated by family, friends, staff, and community members was truly inspiring. 🎓✨

Each graduate and completer brought their own unique story to the stage—a story of perseverance, courage, growth, and determination. We are honored to have been a small part of those journeys and cannot wait to see where their next chapters lead.

As our in-person classes conclude for the school year, we want to thank every student, teacher, volunteer, partner, and supporter who helped make this year such a success. Together, we learned, laughed, overcame challenges, built friendships, and celebrated countless accomplishments.

But don't worry—we won't be gone for long!

🌞 Summer classes begin in July, and we can't wait to welcome both returning and new students back through our doors.

💻 And for our Virtual GED students, the learning doesn't stop! Keep working, keep checking in, and keep moving toward your goals. Your success story is still being written.

In the coming week, our in-person classes will wrap up for another wonderful year at Zeeland Adult Education. As we look back, we are filled with gratitude for the growth, perseverance, friendships, and achievements that have defined this school year.

But before we turn the page, we have one of our favorite traditions still ahead of us.

On the evening of June 3rd at Midtown Center, we will gather to celebrate the accomplishments of our students during our Cap & Gown Graduation Ceremony. Together, we will honor those who earned their GED, completed their High School Diploma, achieved important milestones in our ESL program, and completed Special Programs and certification training that are helping launch new careers and brighter futures. 🌟

Every student who walks across that stage has a story. Stories of determination. Stories of courage. Stories of balancing work, family, language barriers, life challenges, and countless responsibilities while continuing to pursue their goals.

These accomplishments represent much more than certificates, diplomas, and credentials. They represent hope, resilience, and the belief that it is never too late to learn, grow, and create a better tomorrow.

To our students: thank you for inspiring us every day.

To our families, staff, community partners, and supporters: thank you for helping make these successes possible.

And to our graduates and completers, remember this:

The ceremony may mark the end of this chapter, but it is only the beginning of the next.

🗺️🏙️ Future city planners in the making! 🏙️🗺️

Our Beginning ESL Morning Class has been busy learning driving directions, map skills, and prepositions while navigating around town — and then took their learning to the next level by designing towns of their very own! 🚗➡️📍

Students worked together to name streets and avenues, determine which direction roads typically run, and thoughtfully plan where businesses and community locations should be placed. They carefully considered real-world planning decisions like making sure the jail wasn’t next to the school and knowing the beach definitely doesn’t belong downtown! 🌊🏫🚓

The creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and authenticity they brought to this project was absolutely incredible. Watching students apply language skills in meaningful, real-life ways is what makes learning come alive at Zeeland Adult Education! 🌟
