We have six international students who could use a friendly home this school year! HC family, the Cantus, had an international student for the first time last year and enjoyed it so much, they’re planning to host him again!

Andrea Cantu wrote “We had the blessing of hosting an international student for the first time last year. He was such a great addition to our family that we are looking forward to having him back this coming school year! It has been so good to learn about another culture and try new foods. We would definitely recommend participating in this program and we’re happy to answer any questions about our experience!”

New HCHS parking lot 🚗, South Side massive renovation started, extended parking for HC Transportation bus garage 🚌, new Forest School 🌳 office and classroom space, plus we bought a new house 🏡 on the corner of Ottawa and 32nd Street!

Keep your eyes peeled for these nesting boxes hidden in trees at Pine Ridge!

In Creation Keeping class, 6th graders look at what types of habitat are around them at home and school, then research the species of native birds on those habitats in Michigan.

After also bird watching native birds, they decide what nest box type will best fit the birds of their local environment. Then they build and place their nesting boxes in those habitats, like these at Pine Ridge’s circle driveway.

Students actually creating something with their hands that is useful out of a piece of lumber, using applied math and engineering skills is pretty magical!

Look for an expansion of Pine Ridge’s “Perch” in the front parking circle this fall!
