Seth Godin always gets one thinking. (and this is good, right?)
Standardized testing and Okay, I'll say it. I'm not a big standardized testing fan. Especially if we're prone to just pile on more and over-do them. What Seth Godin says about "filters" makes sense to me. You too?

Everyone else under the sun is able to operate under the predictably safe umbrella of “perception is reality.”

No, you’r...

How do you tackle a problem? Where do you begin? – SCN Encourager Problems come in all sizes and shapes. So do potential solutions. Dang. Even Easter could be considered an ideal case study of the application of an effective long-term solution to a universally pervasive problem. Now rarely do our problems ever rise to this level, though. Some might say they never…

I modified them (AKA pulled them out and totally mished-mashed them) from Steven Pressfield’s insightful and intelligent book “The War of Art.” He wrote this book with folks like us in…
This week, Michigan students in grades 3-11 participate in the "high stakes testing" known as M-Step. We just hope it's all worth it, for the students' sake. We both know there has to be a better way. Consider what Linda Darling Hammond has to say about retention.
