Congratulations Deputy Joseph Lezman (2024 Basic Police Academy graduate)
Please join Sheriff Poulin in congratulating Deputy Joseph Lezman on his recent appointment as K9 handler and welcoming K9 Bane to the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

Since being at MCSO he has worked as a PINS car for Fruitport Township prior to becoming a K9 handler. Deputy Lezman currently resides in Whitehall with his wife and their children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, fishing, and hunting. Deputy Lezman is proud to be Muskegon County’s K9 handler and looks forward to working alongside his partner, K9 Bane!
Bane is a 17-month old Belgian Groenandahl from Mexico. Bane is a multi-purpose K9. Bane is qualified to track suspects or missing persons, the protection of the handler and assisting Officers/Deputies, as well as conducting an article search to as little as a bullet casing.
