Holland Scholastic Chess Training is open to all children in K-12th grade.
The season runs from Oct-Dec (1st semester) and Jan-March (2nd semester)
Holland Scholastic Chess Training has Class-A and Chess Experts to train your child not only how to play the game of chess, but to play with sufficient skill to compete in State and National chess tournaments. Our students are strongly encouraged to participate in regional chess tournaments throughout the season.

Thank you to all who were able to make it to the Holland Junior Open chess tournament! We are thrilled to have had 47 players in our tournament this year.
Below is a picture of all of our section winners. Congratulations to all and hope to see you again next year.
On a side note, someone left a coffee mug at the tournament Last Saturday. If you think it may be yours please reach out and I will get it to you.

The Holland Chess Academy invites all K-12 students to compete in the 12th annual Holland Junior Open March 16th, featuring rated & unrated sections. It will be held at 14 S Church St, Zeeland, MI 49464
Registration begins from 9:30am-10:00am. Entry fee $20.
Open Section Rated sections require USCF and MCA memberships.
Notation and clocks required.
Five Round Swiss, G/30 with 5 second delay, Notation required. Rounds at 10:00- 11:15- 12:30- 1:45- 3:00. Awards ceremony at 4:30.
First place $100, Second place $50. Prizes based on 10 participants. Trophies for first, second and third.
Unrated section (no membership required)
1. Primary (k-3)
2. Elementary (4-5)
3. Varsity (6-12)
Five round Swiss system, No clocks or notation required. G/15 rounds at 10:00, 10:45- 11:30- 12:15- 1:00. Awards Ceremony at 2pm.
If the game is going long a clock will be placed on the board with little time.
Trophies for first, second, and third. Ribbons for 4th and 5th in each section.

Kingdom Chess An up-to-date USCF membership is a requirement for participants in the rated section. Costs are $20/year for children, or $45/year for adults. Membership can be bought/renewed at the link below.
With deep regret, we have to close the Holland Chess Academy. Coach Mark is moving out of town and retiring and Coach Andrew is unable to keep the club going on his own.
Many students have passed through the academy and we appreciate the parents support too.

Thanks to all of the Kids who came to our Tenth Holland Junior Open. We had a great turn out with 64 players coming.
You can see all the winners holding up there trophies and cash prizes.
The first picture is of the winners in the rated section followed by the Varsity, Middle school, and Elementary winners.
