What do you see?
What would you see if you changed your angle?
Swipe to find out.
I ‘think’ I know what I’m looking at, but is my perception (bias) distorting my emotional realty?
Always a good question to consider.
This statement captures the essence of Viktor Frankl’s essential teachings. While attributed to him as a direct quote, it comes from Stephen R. Covey who quoted and unknown author in his forward to Alex Pattakos Ph.D and Elaine Dundon book, "Prisoners of Our Thoughts: Viktor Frankl's Principles for Discovering Meaning in Life and Work."
It is a powerful truth and will transform your life if practiced.
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." - Viktor Emil Frankl

We carry a lot!
Some of it we need. A lot of it we don’t.
We need an address book.
It’s a lot to remember.
Now we keep it on our phone.
We don’t need a offense book.
But we all have one!
We keep it in our head.
That way we never lose it!
It’s where we keep track of all of our perceived offenses done to us.
It’s where we keep track of our hurts. Which is important if
you want to maintain your anger and bitterness. It also helps
us keep our fear and anxiety up to date and strong.
Why do we carry an offense book around in our head?
Fear.
It’s our distorted thinking.
We believe it protects us from being hurt again.
It doesn’t.
It really heavy.
It keeps you up at night.
It eats away at your soul. And….
It keeps you from what’s important in life.
When you came into this world you were naked, and you didn’t bring anything with you.
You will leave this world in the same way. You don’t get to take any baggage with you.
However, you can carry all the baggage you want right up until your point of departure. (If you want to.)
If it has value, by all means you should carry it with you and share it with others!
If it doesn’t have value, why are you carrying it?
It’s time to set some things down.
Doing so will free you to be the best version of you.
