We offer a FULL Day Program for ONE YEAR OLD - SCHOOL AGE from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. OUR CURRICULUM
Our Academic Program includes a blend of the "Creative Curriculum", the "ABEKA Curriculum" and reinforced with select "Montessori Methods." Community resources are used to enhance our programs. The outside world has much to teach, and we plan, at least once per month, for "In-House Programs". Specific areas to be explored through Learning Centers are:
Practical Life Activities are those that help the child develop concentration, coordination, and independence. Children learn through imitation, and observation. Activities such as pouring, washing, gardening, stringing beads, and baking are some of the activities we will use during the year. Creative Art Activities drama, music, and art are incorporated in daily lessons. These activities encourage free expression and creative interpretation, Music and movement is a part of our everyday schedule. Included are Classical Music, Music Appreciation, "Hands-on" Instrument exploration, and Multi-Language Songs. Language Activities develop the naming of objects in their environment and formation of sentence structure. Reading stories, rhyming activities and choral ready are some of the ways we teach children to share their thoughts and communicate their feelings. Pre-Reading Skills will be taught in progressive levels. Lessons will be presented using concrete materials first, learning letters and sounds, and then eventually, learning to put them together to make words ~ learning to write letters, both upper and lower case. Math Concepts will be incorporated in daily activities. Graphing, matching, classifying, counting, sorting and measuring are some of the ways children will concretely work with numbers, shapes, sizes and weights. Science Activities the allow the children, through discovery and "Hands-On" experiences, to explore nature and the world around them.
