What have the ScrapHeads been up to since this season’s kickoff? We’ve been a little busy! From designing, fabricating, and coding our brand-new robot to planning some exciting events in the months ahead, there’s lots happening! Stay tuned! 👀

In the meantime, enjoy a few highlights from our Homecoming week festivities, including our parade float and bringing some more fun to the Homecoming game with our T-shirt cannon!

A HUGE thank-you to the Cates family for helping with our float prep and pulling it for us and to our superintendent, Dr. Harrison, for helping us spread the love with HHS StuCo T-shirts from our cannon! ❤️

We love seeing our school and community come together this season. We love being part of all the excitement! 🛠️🤖

🚨 WE’RE OFFICIALLY OPEN! 🚨

The ScrapHeads Print Lab is officially up and running!

Our new student-run program is bringing 3D printing, CAD design, CNC fabrication, and laser engraving to our school and community, and we’re excited to put our students’ creativity and skills to work!

This is more than just making cool stuff. The Print Lab gives our robotics team real-world experience in engineering, design, manufacturing, problem-solving, and customer service, while helping support our robotics program and creating new connections throughout our community.

We’re incredibly excited for this new outreach opportunity and can’t wait to see what YOU bring to the lab! Check out a few of the awesome nametags made for Camp One this summer by our team member, Patrick!

Today marks a special day for FTC teams around the world, it’s Season Kickoff! 🤖🎉 That means the game for this season, Biobuzz, has officially been revealed!

Our team spent the day together diving into the game in detail, analyzing the rules, exploring different strategies, and beginning to map out how we want to approach our robot design and build this season. There’s a lot to learn, a lot to plan, and we’re excited to get started!

A huge thank you to our incredible mentors and parents for keeping us fueled throughout the day with all the best food and snacks! 🍔🍪❤️

What an incredible way to kick off our season! We can’t wait to see where this year takes us. Let’s go! 🚀🤖

Looking back at one of our practices from earlier this week! 🤖 Our Special Olympics program came by to meet with us and drive some of our robots! This served as a fun team building experience for them! It was a lot of fun getting to share what we do and see everyone having a great time. We’re so glad they came out!

🤖 We had a great time bringing some of our robots to the Holden Street Fair for an interactive demo! It was awesome getting to talk with people in our community, show them what we’ve been working on, and let everyone interact with the robot. 🔧

FIRST starts with our community, and we’re excited to keep spreading it through events like this!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and gave our robot a try! 🤖🙌

Every summer, our team holds a day-long retreat where new and returning team members can come together, get to know each other, and set personal and team goals for the year ahead!

We also make time for some team-building activities, and this year we added a little community outreach to the mix. We visited the Holden Senior Center to serve lunch and talk robots!

Here’s a look at some of the fun we had! We’re looking forward to putting these goals, new connections, and teamwork to work as we head into the season. We can’t wait to see what this year brings! BIG Goals means BIG things are coming!!!!🤖
