On April 8th, 2025, Holcomb School District voters will be asked to vote on a no-tax-increase bond issue. Bond committee members have been reaching out to voters asking for support. By voting YES, the district will be able to:
1. repair much-needed roof repairs,
2. provide new HVAC systems to our elementary school,
3. tuckpointing at the high school to repair gaps in the mortar to maintain the structural integrity of the building and prevent any further water damage, and
4. make additional repairs and upgrades depending on available funding after these necessary repairs are made.

The committee has several handouts that include photos and a clear description of the Holcomb R-III School District's needs. Any member will be happy to bring a handout by to you and answer any questions you may have. You can also reach out to our Superintendent, Mr. Dustin Benson, at 573-792-3113 if you have any further questions.

We have a wonderful school that works hard to put the needs of our students first! Please help us maintain our school buildings by voting YES on April 8th for the Proposition K.I.D.S. no-tax-increase bond issue.

If you would like to show your support by placing a sign in your yard, let a committee member know, we will happy to drop one off to you as well.

All support is greatly appreciated!

Holcomb R-III School District Proposes $1 Million Bond for Critical Facility Improvements

Holcomb, MO – February 13, 2025: On April 8, 2025, voters in the Holcomb R-III School District will have the opportunity to approve a $1 million bond measure aimed at addressing critical infrastructure needs across the district. This initiative is designed to ensure safe, efficient, and modern learning environments for all students while maintaining the district’s current debt service levy of $0.7405 per $100 of assessed valuation.

The proposed improvements include:
Roof Repairs and Replacements: Aging roofs across district facilities require immediate attention to prevent leaks and structural damage. By addressing these issues now, the district can avoid higher repair costs in the future.
New HVAC Systems at the Elementary School: The installation of modern heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems will ensure a comfortable and healthy environment for students and staff, improving air quality and energy efficiency.
Tuckpointing at the High School: Essential tuckpointing work will repair gaps in mortar to maintain the structural integrity of the building and prevent water damage. This proactive maintenance will preserve the high school’s exterior and reduce long-term repair costs.
Additional Repairs and Upgrades: Depending on available funds, other necessary repairs and improvements will be completed to enhance the safety and functionality of district facilities.

Why This Bond Matters
The bond measure represents a proactive approach to maintaining and improving school facilities without increasing the tax rate for residents. By investing in these upgrades now, the district aims to avoid costly emergency repairs in the future while creating an optimal learning environment for students.

Our schools are at the heart of our community, and this bond measure allows us to make necessary improvements while being fiscally responsible. These upgrades will not only protect our investments but also ensure our students have safe, comfortable spaces to learn and grow.

Benefits for Students and the Community
Enhanced Learning Environments: Modern HVAC systems and well-maintained facilities contribute to better academic performance by providing a comfortable atmosphere conducive to learning.
Cost Savings Over Time: Addressing deferred maintenance now prevents more expensive repairs down the road5.
Community Pride: Well-maintained schools reflect positively on the community as a whole, preserving property values and fostering local pride.

No Tax Rate Increase
Importantly, approval of this bond measure will not result in an increase in the district’s tax rate. The debt service levy will remain unchanged at $0.7405 per $100 of assessed valuation, ensuring that this investment is both necessary and affordable for taxpayers.

Why Vote YES?
This no-tax-rate-increase bond issue is a rare opportunity to make significant improvements without increasing taxes. By voting YES on April 8, you are investing in:
The safety and security of our children.
Modernized facilities that support academic success.
Protecting community assets by maintaining and improving school infrastructure.

Your YES vote ensures that we can continue to provide high-quality education in safe, secure, and well-maintained facilities—benefiting not just today’s students but generations to come.
