One of the strangest things about dance is that we expect the body to solve problems we never taught it to understand.
We ask for better turns.
The body guesses.
We ask for higher jumps.
The body guesses.
We ask for more flexibility.
The body guesses.
And after enough guessing, the compensation becomes the technique.
The dancer no longer knows the difference.
That’s why the basics are so important.
Not because they’re simple.
Because they’re where understanding lives.
When you understand what your body is doing, every correction has a purpose.
Every drill has a reason.
Every rep becomes information.
Without that understanding, you’re not building a skill.
You’re just hoping repetition figures it out for you.

One of the most frustrating experiences in life is knowing exactly what you want...
..and having no idea why you can’t reach it.
So you keep trying.
You keep hoping.
You keep telling yourself that eventually it’ll click.
But maybe what’s been missing isn’t more effort.
Maybe what’s been missing is understanding.
Because effort without direction is exhausting. And clarity has a funny way of making progress feel possible again.
Sometimes the breakthrough isn’t another correction.
Sometimes it’s the first time someone can finally explain why.
The moment confusion turns into clarity, everything starts moving differently.
Not because you changed the goal.
Because you finally understood the path.

After the response to our previous Turns Foundations classes, we knew we had to add more of them to our June 19th schedule.
Many dancers and parents have been asking for more opportunities to focus on the basics, the fundamentals, and the “why” behind turning—and we’re excited to bring exactly that.
This class is designed for dancers who need a stronger foundation and a clearer understanding of the building blocks that make successful turns possible. Rather than rushing into advanced combinations, we’ll focus on balance, alignment, core control, spotting, coordination, and body awareness—the pieces that every great turn is built upon.
The dancers who turn the best aren’t always the ones doing the hardest skills. They’re the ones who understand the fundamentals and have taken the time to master them.
Whether you’re joining us for the first time or continuing to build on what you’ve already learned, we’re excited to share the knowledge, tools, and techniques that have helped so many dancers develop stronger, more confident turns.

Second turns aren’t just about getting the leg higher.
They’re about teaching the body how to hold the position with strength, control, and awareness.
Using the plyo box as a visual target helps dancers understand where the leg needs to stay throughout the turn while reinforcing proper placement, rotation, and alignment. It creates immediate feedback, forcing the body to recognize when it falls out of position and when it stays connected.
When the hips are doing their job, the standing leg is stable, and the line stays long and active, everything starts to work together. The turn becomes less about forcing rotations and more about creating a position the body can actually maintain.
Technique isn’t built by doing more turns.
It’s built by understanding what the body needs to do during the turn.

Another opportunity to get in the room and train.
After the response from our Memorial Day Clinics, we knew we had to open another Turn Clinic for dancers still looking for that chance to learn, grow, and keep building momentum going into summer.
This is for the dancers who want to keep sharpening their technique instead of waiting for the next season to arrive.
The ones who understand confidence in turns comes from repetition, understanding, corrections, and intentional work.
If you missed the last clinic, this is your opportunity.
If you were there already, let’s keep building.
Train with purpose.
Turn with confidence.
Intermediate + Advanced levels available.
Registration is now open through the MindBody Fitness & Wellness app.
Built on The TDP Principles™ — this isn’t just another dance workshop.
This is for the educators, trainers, and coaches who want to understand *why* the body moves the way it does… not just keep correcting the same thing over and over.
The Train the Trainer Program was created to bridge the gap between movement, mechanics, technique, strength, mobility, and application — giving educators a deeper understanding of how to truly help dancers grow with clarity and intention.
We’re diving into:
• movement quality
• posture & alignment
• mobility + stability
• kinetic chains
• activation patterns
• injury prevention
• cueing & communication
• technique through understanding, not repetition
This is about learning how to see movement differently.
How to coach with purpose.
How to create longer-lasting results in the dancers you work with.
IN PERSON
July 19th | 9AM–4PM
Spots are limited.
Registration is now open.

Every dancer has moments where their body doesn’t match what they know they’re capable of.
Not because they aren’t talented.
Not because they aren’t training hard enough.
Sometimes the body just stops responding freely when the mind becomes overloaded, frustrated, pressured, or disconnected.
And the hardest part?
Most dancers blame themselves for it.
But growth starts changing the second you stop looking at yourself like a problem that needs fixing…
and start understanding yourself better instead.
Movement is personal.
Confidence is personal.
Progress is personal.
The goal isn’t perfection.
The goal is building enough understanding, trust, and consistency within yourself that your body no longer feels like something you’re fighting against.
