Choice Homeschool Choice Homeschool program is the home school ministry of General Assembly Academy in Hohenwald, TN. Choice covers the entire state of Tennessee. C.H.O.I.C.E.

In accordance with Tennessee State Law, C.H.O.I.C.E. (Children's Homeschool Opportunities in Christian Education) operates as a Church-Related Satellite Homeschool Program of General Assembly Academy. Our philosophy regarding home education:
• God has ordained parents to educate their children. Therefore, parents are responsible to God for the spiritual & academic education of their children (De

ut. 6 and Eph. 6:4)
• Each child is an individual with different learning styles and capabilities. All children are capable of learning. We must try to bring each child to his/her fullest potential.
• We believe all families should have the opportunity to teach their children Christian values while also providing a quality education.
• Students should be allowed to progress at a speed that matches their ability, not restricted by rigid schedules.
• Home education is a viable choice to achieve the best education possible for a child. staff is available to offer help, answer questions, or give you needed information Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We pride ourselves on personalized service. With C.H.O.I.C.E., you are not a customer number, you are a personal friend. Your children and your homeschool experience are important to us, and we try to provide the best service possible.

THE FIRST PERSIMMON SEED OF THE YEAR … AND, IF CORRECT, GET YOUR SLED READY.
Folklore suggests the shape of the seed can predict the winter weather.
Well, Robin Meadows sent me this photo and says:

That's the shovel or spoon, potentially a lot of snow.
The forecasters are saying, El Niño may bring us more treacherous weather for our winter.
—-
So, Robin cut open the seed of a locally grown American persimmon fruit to see the shape of the internal embryo, or cotyledon.
A fork shape predicts a mild winter.
A spoon shape like this one forecasts a snowy winter with a lot of shoveling.
A knife shape suggests a harsh, windy, and cold.
Looks like a spoon to me.
Hmmmmm … think I’ll check with a woolly worm.
