STEM Spotlights: Building Big Ideas in Tiny Houses!

Our Lewis County Middle School STEM students have spent the past week putting their engineering, math, and research skills to the test! Pulling from an iCEV lesson focused on structural design and energy conservation, these creative minds took on the ultimate challenge: designing and constructing sustainable Tiny House prototypes out of construction board and recycled materials. From sketching initial blueprints to researching space-saving designs, our students fully embraced the engineering process. They put their math skills to work calculating exact dimensions and scaling down their layouts, all while safely operating our new cardboard cutter to bring their 3D models to life!
Many of our students went from dreaming of mega-mansions to realizing the massive impact of saving energy—with several deciding they want a smaller, eco-friendly home when they grow up. Every single group brought a completely unique design to the table, and we are bursting with Panther pride over their hard work, critical thinking, and collaboration. Check out the photos below to see these amazing student-built prototypes! Which one would you move into?

Football Schedule Update

Due to the tragic loss of one of our former students and the services that will be held Friday evening, we are making adjustments to this week’s football schedule.

🏈 Lewis County High School
The high school football game has been moved to Thursday night, September 17, at Bobby Sharp Stadium.

🏈 Lewis County Middle School
The middle school game will remain on Thursday, September 17, but will have a location change. The game will now be played at A. B. Sisco Field (the former middle school field). Due to the heat, the game will begin at 7pm.

8th Grade Night has also been rescheduled for Thursday, October 1. Eighth-grade recognition will begin at 6:00 p.m., with kickoff at 6:30 p.m.

These changes will allow our students, players, families, and community members the opportunity to attend the services and support one another during this difficult time.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s understanding and flexibility. Please continue to keep the family, friends, classmates, and all those impacted by this loss in your thoughts.
