Rules of Social Engagement (ROSE) Policy

The CHS social media site is here to connect CHS and parents, to provide information, and to share in the positive activities that happen throughout the school. The intent of this policy is to protect t

he privacy and rights of the CHS students and staff. Our social media page is available for all visitors to view, add comments, and share in the conversation. To that end, our seven Rules of Social Engagement (ROSE) are as follows:

1. Zero tolerance for bullying
4. Respect your fellow Facebookers
5. Use language you wouldn’t mind your Kindergartener saying in church
6. Message bombing (multiple rapid posts) will be deleted
7. Any post or comment that violates this policy will be deleted

We look forward to sharing positive news and holding informative conversations, however; we will delete any comments that:

• Break the law or encourage others to do so
• Contain abusive or inappropriate languages or statements. This includes remarks that contain obscenities, sexually suggestive messages, racist, homophobic or sexist comments.
• Easily identify students and/or staff in a defamatory, abusive or generally negative connotation
• Do not show proper consideration for other’s privacy or are considered likely to offend or provoke
• Are spam, advertisements or promotions of a service or product

All postings of comments are at the discretion of the social media administrators. We will not post or share comments that negatively reference specific staff or students. It is our policy to review all comments before publishing to reduce the possibility of spam and to ensure comments adhere to our social engagement guidelines.

We are excited to welcome Mr. Preston Channell to Callaway High School as our new HVAC teacher!

Mr. Channell comes to us directly from industry, bringing valuable real-world experience, enthusiasm, and a natural ability to connect with students. He also brings experience in wrestling and will be joining our athletic program as an assistant coach for the Callaway Wrestling Team.

Help us give Mr. Channell a warm Cavalier welcome!

What started with Bridgette Tatum and has continued with the support and advocacy of Justin Williams is becoming a CHS tradition we love!

Dress Nice Thursday is about more than just the clothes, it’s about dressing for success, carrying yourself with confidence, and feeling your best. As Deion Sanders says, “If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you perform good. If you perform good, they pay good.”

We invite ALL students and staff to participate tomorrow! Whether you go business professional, Sunday best, or simply step it up a little, show up looking sharp and feeling confident. We can’t wait to see our Cavaliers looking their BEST tomorrow!

Yesterday, Dr. Hazel spent some time with us at CHS and got an inside look at how we’re kicking off the new school year! From seeing our students and staff settling into their routines to discussing how we’re putting new policies and state laws into practice, it was a great opportunity to share what this year looks like at Callaway. Are these throwback pictures? Nope! This is what lunch looks like at CHS without phones! Conversations are happening, students are laughing, card games are being played, and deeper connections are being formed. It’s been so great to see our Cavaliers enjoying time together and being present with one another.
