🎉ONE MONTH DOWN! 🎉

What a great first month! Our Child Nutrition team has been busy fueling our students and serving up some BIG numbers!

🥞 over 23,000 breakfasts
🍎 over 33,000 lunches
🙌 over 56,000 meals served!

We are so thankful for our amazing team who works hard every day to serve our students! 💚

Now it’s time for a little Labor Day weekend break! 🇺🇸 We hope our students, families, teachers, and staff enjoy a long weekend to relax and recharge!

Just look at these lunch lines! 😍🍽️ We are so proud of the beautiful meals we’re serving our students each day.

Today at the high school, we were especially excited to serve fresh pork burgers made with pork purchased through our FFA department, along with local cherry tomatoes from Cleav's Family Market! 🍔🍅 We love being able to support our students, our LaRue County FFA program, and local agriculture while serving fresh, delicious food.

And our tiniest Hawks had a little orange fun today! 🍊🦅 Their smiles say it all! ❤️

Fresh food, local connections, and happy students—there’s nothing better!

What a great way to kick off the new school year! 🍎📚

Today, our team joined colleagues from Washington County, Marion County, Campbellsville Independent, and Elizabethtown Independent School Districts for our annual Back-to-School Training.

It was a day filled with learning, collaboration, and sharing ideas as we continue striving to be the very best for the students we serve. Every meal we prepare is an opportunity to make a difference, and investing in our teams helps ensure we’re ready for another successful school year.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make today a success. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead! 💙

Paying for snacks just got even easier!

Our high school vending machines are now equipped with credit card readers, making it more convenient than ever to grab your favorite snacks and drinks.

💳 We now accept:

✅ Google Pay
✅ Contactless Tap-to-Pay

🍎 Don't forget about FREE breakfast! Our breakfast vending machines continue to offer FREE reimbursable school breakfasts to all students each morning. Enter your student ID number and 8-digit date of birth to receive your breakfast before school. Later in the day, the machines switch over to snacks, which can now be purchased using cashless payment options!

We're always looking for ways to make our cafeterias more convenient and accessible for our students, staff, and visitors. We hope you'll enjoy this new feature!

LaRue County Schools will be participating in the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. As part of this program, Preschool on College Street, Abraham Lincoln Elementary, Hodgenville Elementary, LaRue County Middle School, and LaRue County High School will offer healthy meals every school day at NO COST to the students due to the implementation of CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) for the school year 2026-2027. Students will be able to participate in these meal programs without incurring a fee.

Students will still need to fill out the HIF (Household Income Forms), which helps our district qualify for important state and federal funding that supports all students.

🍉🥒 Fresh, Local Produce is on the Way! 🥒🍉

Today we picked up locally grown watermelons and cucumbers that will soon be making their way to our students!

This delivery came on large pallets, and there is no way we could have done it without the incredible support of our Transportation and Maintenance Department. Their willingness to jump in with the equipment and manpower needed made it possible for us to bring fresh, local produce to our cafeterias.

A special thank you to Elizabethtown Overhead, Inc. too for allowing us to borrow their flatbed truck! 🛻

A huge THANK YOU to these amazing teams for always stepping up to help. It truly takes all of us working together to provide the very best for our students. 💚

🎉 It's Our FINAL SUN Meals Pickup of the Summer! 🎉

We can't believe it's already our last week! Join us this Thursday from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM at LaRue County High School for our final SUN Meals pickup.

We are incredibly grateful to every family who participated in our summer meal program. Your support has made this another successful summer, and we have loved serving our community!

🚗 Traffic Reminder: Due to activities taking place at Hodgenville Elementary School, please follow the updated traffic pattern shown on the map below. Staff will be on-site to help direct traffic if the line needs to be rerouted. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to keep traffic flowing safely.

🚗 IMPORTANT: Updated Traffic Flow for SUN Meals Pickup – This Week🚗

Due to events taking place at Hodgenville Elementary School (HES) over the last two weeks, we will be using an updated traffic pattern for our SUN Meals pickup to help keep traffic moving safely for everyone.

📍Please follow the attached map when arriving for meal pickup.

➡️ Don't worry—we know this is a little different! Our staff will be on-site directing traffic to help guide everyone when it's time for the line to be redirected.

A few reminders:
🍎 Meal pickup is 11:00 AM–1:00 PM at LaRue County High School.
🚗 Please stay in the designated traffic flow and follow staff directions.
⏰ If you're in line by 1:00 PM, you'll be served. We close the line at 1:00 PM and cannot allow additional vehicles to enter after that time.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we make this temporary adjustment. We appreciate your help in keeping everyone safe and making meal pickup as smooth as possible! 💙💛
