Back in December we shared about the great things God is doing through our WCS alumni, Micah Thornton, Ben Haines, Steven Anderson, Ava Kossak, Micah Elliott, Ransom Boulet, Alexa Kanu, and Michaela Elliott, and how they've launched a young adult ministry called The Barn.

Now The Barn has grown to almost 1,000 young adults and they want to invite their friends, family, and supporters for a special event this Friday, open to all, called Unity Night!

Wilmington Christian School is excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Rich Liu as our new Upper School Principal.

Mr. Liu brings more than 30 years of educational experience, including 19 years of leadership as a department head. His deep familiarity with WCS, love for our students and faculty, and commitment to our mission make him a wonderful fit for this important role.

Throughout the search process, Rich demonstrated relational wisdom, a shepherd’s heart for students and faculty, collaborative leadership, and a desire to continue learning and growing. We are grateful for God’s provision and look forward to the ways He will work through Mr. Liu’s leadership in the years ahead.

🏑 Congratulations to Mrs. Missy Arenz, WCS physical education teacher, on earning a spot on the USA Women's Over-35 Field Hockey Team!

This week, Mrs. Arenz is representing the United States at the Field Hockey Masters Tournament in the Netherlands. We are incredibly proud of her dedication, athletic excellence, and the example she sets for our students every day.

Summer is meant for sunshine, family time, vacations, and making memories—but it's also a wonderful opportunity to help our kids continue growing.

As Wilmington Christian students work through their summer reading and assignments, it can be tempting to see them as just another item to check off the list. But these books and activities are an opportunity to build habits that will serve our children well far beyond the classroom. Reading strengthens their minds, sparks their imagination, and prepares them to return to school with confidence.

Here's to starting that summer reading assignment, discovering a few great stories along the way, and starting the new school year ready for all that God has in store. Happy reading, Wilmington Christian families! 📚☀️
