SURE HOUSE - Stevens Solar Decathlon 2015 SURE HOUSE is Stevens Institute of Technology's answer for SUstainable/REsilient coastal housing. Department of Energy - Solar Decathlon 2015 Entry Home.

SURE HOUSE addresses the need for sustainable, resilient homes in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. Our interdisciplinary team of students, here at Stevens Institute of Technology, intend SURE HOUSE to be a new direction in coastal housing. The entry home into the Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2015 competition focuses on three core principles:

1) Use 90% less energy through passive and efficient design
2) Entirely operate the home with solar power
3) Implement innovative floodproofing techniques and coastal building best practices
