Obstacle Courses are always fun!
One of our obstacles is jumping.

Why?
* Balance: This is the first time 2 feet leave the ground at once.
* Muscle strength: Jumping requires all the muscles of your legs.
* Bone strength: The pressure downwards through the bones of the legs helps them grow and harden.
* Motor planning: Jumping requires continual motor planning.
* Health and fitness: Physical activity is necessary for health.
* Social interaction: Jumping is used often in children’s play.

Around 2 years old, a pronated grasp appears. Pronation refers to when the wrist is rotated to point the palm of the hand down toward the floor.

A pronated grasp begins to involve the fingers as they now wrap around the brush, but active movement continues to come mostly from the elbow joint, which is often elevated in this grasp pattern.

Try this perfect rainy day activity at home!

Materials Needed:
🧊 ice cubes
🧁muffin tray
💦 cold water
💦 hot water
🧂 salt
🍬sugar
🥄baking soda
❓ let your child pick anything she/he thinks may work.

Next steps:
1- place 2 ice cubes in each individual cups of the muffin tray.
2- set a timer
3- place each supply on top of the ice cubes.
4- observe

Tip*- To make it a bit more fun, add food coloring to the water before you freeze it.
