Rockin Redwings with Mr. Stasiak at Hoboken HS

The Rockin Redwings are starting the season with strong student leadership and creativity. Drum majors Rye Critelli and Yuval Segall are taking expanded conducting roles, while Zach Bellofatto designed the band’s official show and T shirt logo.

This year’s Legends of Rock features music from Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Journey, and Queen. The band will perform at the NFL Kickoff event at Pier A before heading to its first competition in South Plainfield.

Career Lab students kicked off the year by building workplace readiness skills through the Tallest Spaghetti Tower Challenge. Working in teams, students practiced communication, problem solving, decision making, and time management while designing freestanding towers. Periods 4 and 9 tied for the tallest tower at 38 inches!

8th Grade at Hoboken MS

Eighth graders are off to a great start! In Pre AP Algebra and Pre Algebra, students explored real numbers, algebraic thinking, and problem solving through interactive activities. In Geometry, students connected shapes, angles, and other geometric concepts to the world around them.

In ELA, students built classroom community, created biography poems, and reflected on September 11. In Science, students reviewed lab safety and completed their first activity focused on observations and inferences.

In Pre AP World History, students reviewed geography concepts, classroom expectations, and the events and lasting impact of September 11.

7th Grade at Hoboken MS

Seventh graders had a great first week! In ELA, students built classroom community through teamwork activities and prepared for Unit 1, “Conflicts and Clashes.” In Math, students reviewed decimal computation through collaborative puzzles and challenges.

In Science, students explored the question, “What is Science?” while preparing their notebooks for the year. In Social Studies, students reviewed classroom expectations and began learning about the Five Themes of Geography.
