⚽ Behind the scenes of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Stevens alum Brad Miller ’06 M.Eng. ’08 helped prepare the New Jersey–New York metropolitan region for a complex mobility challenge: 1.2 million visitors traveling through an already congested transportation network while keeping safety and efficiency at the forefront.

Working with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Miller and his team at Michael Baker International helped deploy intelligent transportation systems that used advanced technologies to support safer, more efficient travel across northern New Jersey.

His time as a civil engineering student gave him real-world preparation that helped guide his career. “The co-op program helped shape what I wanted to do going forward,” he says. “I was better prepared for the job market and for selecting a master’s track.”

Thomas J. Nathanson ’74 and his wife Nancy are helping shape the future of Stevens through a transformational gift to establish the Nancy V. and Thomas J. Nathanson 1974 Fund for Strategic Institutional Investment.

For Tom, this commitment is a deeply personal one. As a student, a $500 award helped him move onto campus and fully embrace the Stevens experience — an opportunity that shaped his education, career and life.

Their generosity will support the university’s highest priorities, advance innovation and create new opportunities for Stevens students and faculty.
