🟣 CTOR Academy at GORP 2026!

Last week, our residents and faculty had the opportunity to attend the Graduate Orthodontic Residents Program (GORP®) 2026 at the University of Michigan, a long-standing educational event that brings together orthodontic residents from programs across the United States and Canada.

From outstanding lectures and discussions to reconnecting with colleagues and building new professional relationships, GORP continues to be a valuable experience for the next generation of orthodontists.

Thank you to the University of Michigan, the AAO, and everyone involved in making another successful GORP possible!

🟣 New Publication from CTOR Academy Faculty

We're proud to share that our latest clinical case report has been published in the 2026 Fall issue of the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists (MASO) Journal.

The article explores the non-surgical correction of a severe adult skeletal open bite with maxillary constriction using maxillary expansion and the CTOR Intrusion Plate. It discusses the biological and biomechanical considerations behind treating these complex cases and presents an alternative approach for carefully selected patients seeking to avoid orthognathic surgery.

Congratulations to our authors:
• Dr. Fanar Abdullah
• Dr. Shamelly Diaz
• Dr. Jeanne Nervina
• Dr. Cristina C. Teixeira
• Dr. Mani Alikhani

We are proud to see our faculty continuing to advance evidence-based orthodontics through research, innovation, and clinical excellence.

🟣 A new Biology of Orthodontics video is now available on CTOR's YouTube channel.

Dr. Mani Alikhani presents findings from a recent study by CTOR scientists investigating how a patient's bite and occlusal forces may influence nasal septum ossification.

The research highlights distinct patterns in open bite and deep bite cases and explores the important "shock-absorbing" role of septal cartilage in limiting the transfer of high-impact forces to the midface and cranial base.

This discussion is based on new research published by the European Society of Medicine.
