A Painted Lady’s life cycle is about the right length for preschoolers to follow and understand. Over less than two weeks we observe the caterpillars grow, hang in their J-shape, form a chrysalis and emerge transformed into butterflies.
There is something magical about it even as we learn that this is a natural process and use the scientific method to explore it.

Gardening is a big part of our spring science curriculum. Learning about plants, handling them gently, planting and making sure they stay healthy is part of how we care for the Earth, foster a sense of independence and responsibility and contribute to our community.
Plus it’s fun!

The Kaplan Kids are ready for Tu B’Shevat! On Tuesday in Science, the classes had a chance to try lots of different fruits in honor of the birthday of the trees.

Our Goorim class is doing an author study on Kevin Henkes. Here, the children recreated their own flowers and wrote the letters of their names on each of the petals after reading “Chrysanthemum”
