James Graham passed from this life to the next on August 10, 2026.
Many of you may remember him as the Director of Finance for Hobe Sound Bible College and Christian Academy from 1997-2001.

We are grateful for his years of service to Hobe Sound, and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this time of loss.

In Loving Memory of Mark Dale Budensiek, Jr.

Mark Dale Budensiek, Jr., 57, of Hobe Sound, Florida, passed into his heavenly home on August 15, 2026, following a prolonged battle with cancer.
Mark was born in Asmara, Eritrea, on January 14, 1969, to missionary parents Mark and Nancy Budensiek. Mark was blessed to grow up as the youngest of six children. At age 3, his family returned to the United States. When Mark was 8 years old, his family moved to Taiwan where he became fluent in Mandarin Chinese. He viewed the 5 years in Taiwan as some of the best of his growing-up years. His family again returned to the United States where his dad pastored a church in Jupiter, Florida while Mark attended Hobe Sound Christian Academy for his Junior High and High School years. After graduation, in 1987 he returned to Taiwan with his parents for one year during which time he taught English language classes. Over the next several years, Mark attended college, participated in short term mission trips, and explored what career would be a good fit for him. During this time, he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. It was this diagnosis which caused him to realize his need for a deeper relationship with God. In 2002 he graduated from Hobe Sound Bible College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. Then, in 2007, Mark finally succeeded in catching the attention of the love of his life, and they were married in November, 2009. During that time, he graduated from the Corrections Academy at Indian River State College in 2008 and worked at Martin Correctional Institution. In 2011 he began work for Martin County Sheriff’s Office as a corrections deputy where he served until his passing.
Mark’s highest priorities in life were his relationship with Jesus Christ, making memories with his wife and daughter, and spending time with his extended family. He loved connecting with people wherever he was—whether at work, at church, or on the pickleball court.
Mark is survived by his wife, Marissa, and daughter, Malina; brother, Philip (Joy) Budensiek; brother, Peter (Kathy) Budensiek, and their children, Michael (Audra) Budensiek, Veronica (Jon) Atkinson, Thomas (Whitney) Budensiek, and Brenna Budensiek; brother, Paul (Marilyn) Budensiek, Sr., and their children, Tiffany (Shirl) Rosengreen, Crystal (Gabriel) Survance, and Paul Budensiek, Jr.; sisters, Deborah Budensiek, and Julia (Wendell) Wagstaff, and their children, Kolyse (Kyle) Caver, Kaylee (Jordan) Miller, and Justin (Katie) Wagstaff; aunt, Bonnie VanDerKolk; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Imelda Mabus; and his sister-in-law, LeAnn (Mark) Weaver, and their children, Rachel, Caleb, Megan, and Madison. He will also be deeply missed by great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
A Celebration of Life for Mark will be held on Saturday, August 22, at 3:00 p.m. at Hobe Sound Bible Church. Visitation will be held from 1:00–3:00 p.m. Law enforcement honors will be rendered by the Martin County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard.
Mark’s life was a testimony to his love for Jesus, his devotion to his family, and his genuine care for others. He will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered.

Doyle Dean Henneman, 68, of Port Salerno, Florida passed away unexpectedly in his home late Tuesday, July 6, 2026. Doyle was born to Robert and Betty Henneman in Youngstown, Ohio on September 19, 1957. He graduated from Howland High School in 1976 and married the love of his life, Jeanne Runyan on July 28, 1979. They moved to Hobe Sound, FL in 1981. God blessed them with their beautiful daughter Janet on January 22, 1982. Doyle loved Jeanne and Janet so much and worked hard all of his life to provide for them.

Doyle began working in the family trucking business right out of high school. Then after moving to Florida worked for the Yellow and Carolina Freight companies. After retirement he worked in private security in the Palm Beach-Martin County area.
Doyle loved southern gospel and country music. His father Bob taught him and his brothers to play the guitar and they would often hold all night jam sessions in their home. Music was a big part of his life.

He was passionate about life and enjoyed his time here on this earth to the fullest. In his younger years Doyle loved playing football and softball. He was also an avid weightlifter. He also loved spending time at his brother in law and sister’s ranch hunting and just hanging out.

Most importantly Doyle was passionate about his relationship with Jesus Christ. At the early age of nine years old he made the decision to accept Jesus and follow him all of his days. He loved to help people and was instrumental in local bus ministries and mission opportunities in the Indiantown area over the years. His love for others was never more on display than when he and Jeanne cared for her mother in their home until her passing a few years ago.

He attended Hobe Sound Bible Church.

Funeral Arrangements are with the All County Funeral Home and Crematory, Stuart, FL. Visitation and services will be held at Hobe Sound Bible Church, 11295 SE Gomez Ave, Hobe Sound, FL. Monday, July 13th with Doyle’s brother Dale Henneman officiating, assisted by Doyle's good friend Rev. Wes Holden. Family and friends are welcome from 1:30-3:30pm with the Celebration of Life beginning at 3:30pm.

REVEREND MERLE EDWIN TROYER
March 27, 1946 - June 24, 2026
Reverend Merle Edwin Troyer of Hobe Sound, Florida, went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2026, at the age of 80.
Born on March 27, 1946, in Newport News, Virginia, Merle was the son of Levi and Lydia Troyer. At the age of three, he moved with his parents to Haiti, where they served as missionaries. They later moved to the island of La Gonâve, where he witnessed his family's lifelong ministry as they helped establish churches and build a hospital serving the people of La Gonâve. Those formative years instilled in him a deep love for God, missions, and serving others.
Merle graduated as valedictorian of the ministerial studies program at Hobe Sound Bible College in 1968. On August 6 of that same year, he married the love of his life, Faith Blessing Woodward. Together they shared nearly 58 years of marriage and faithfully served the Lord side by side.
Throughout his ministry, Merle pastored churches in Columbus and Marion, Ohio; Hobe Sound, Florida; Flintstone, Maryland; Kansas City and Overland Park, Kansas; Summerfield, Florida; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
His passion was seeing lives transformed through the Gospel. He was especially remembered for establishing a thriving bus ministry and helping found Wyandot Christian School in Ohio. During the 1970s, he was actively involved in preserving the freedom of Christian education.
He served for many years as President of the Hobe Sound Bible College Alumni Association and started the Kings Ambassadors ministry in Overland Park, Kansas. Rev. Merle Troyer was always open to new methods of evangelism without compromising his core principles and convictions.
Beyond the pulpit, he earned his private pilot's license and loved flying whenever he had the opportunity. He also enjoyed fishing, especially peaceful moments spent on the water with family and friends.
More than any accomplishment, Merle will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, faithful pastor, and servant of Christ.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Faith Troyer, his daughters, Twila Grabill and her husband, Keith Grabill; and Talitha Bulson and her husband, Merrill Bulson, his grandchildren: Caleb, Heidi, Joshua, Isaac, Gideon, Alaina, Emily, Blake, and Brett, his great-grandchildren: Abigail, Elijah, Andrew, and Amber Rose, his siblings: Arlene Troyer of Salem, Ohio; Harold Troyer of Cochranton, Pennsylvania; and Faith Troyer of Sterling, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Lydia Troyer
Funeral services will be held at Hobe Sound Bible Church on June 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time. A livestream is planned through the Hobe Sound Bible Church website.

Hobe Sound Bible College and Christian Academy alumni join the Shreve family, Evangelical Wesleyan Mission, and many friends around the world in mourning the passing of Rev. Raymond Shreve, who went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Rev. Shreve holds a special place in the history of Hobe Sound Bible College. He and the late Dr. Robert E. Whitaker made up the college’s first graduating class in 1964, helping mark the beginning of a legacy that continues to impact lives for Christ.
Born into a missionary family serving in China, Rev. Shreve’s life was shaped by faith, sacrifice, and a deep commitment to the work of the Gospel. His family’s missionary service took them from China to Hong Kong, the Philippines, Cuba, and eventually Key West, Florida, where they ministered to Cuban refugees and later developed a church, school, and ministry to U.S. military personnel.
Rev. Shreve came to Hobe Sound after a remarkable journey of God’s providence and protection. During his time as a student, he prepared for a lifetime of faithful ministry while also traveling nearly 300 miles each way on weekends to assist with the work in Key West.
Following his graduation, Rev. Shreve continued the missionary legacy of his family. Alongside his wife, Alice, he faithfully served in ministry and helped lead Evangelical Wesleyan Mission, which has impacted lives across Latin America and beyond.
Rev. Raymond Shreve represented Hobe Sound Bible College well. He was a humble man of God, a man of integrity, and a faithful servant of Christ. We are grateful for his life, his legacy, and his lasting influence.

Rosemary Basham, 92, passed peacefully from this life on June 8 into the presence of the God whom she loved, walked with and served.

She was born March 4, 1934 in Jefferson County, Indiana, the first daughter of the late Rev. Earl and Miriam Pommerehn. Rosemary graduated from Madison High School in 1952 and married George L. Basham on September 20 of that year. She received her B.S. in Music Education and M.M. in Music Education from the University of Louisville. She was a member of Atwood Wesleyan Church in Louisville, Kentucky.

Her family moved to Hobe Sound, Florida in 1969. She taught at Hobe Sound Bible School for eighteen years, serving as a Voice Professor and Chairperson of the Vocal Department, directing the Academy Singers, Chapel Choir and selected touring ensembles. In 1987 Rosemary began teaching at The King’s Academy in West Palm Beach where she was the Director of Choral and Theater Activities until she retired in 1998. Rosemary had a beautiful soprano voice and used it to worship the Lord through her singing.

As a former student has said, “Mrs. Basham has left a great legacy. She has left a testimony of a faithful servant of God; she has left the testimony of a mother and grandmother and wife and simple family woman; she has left the testimony of one who rose from humble beginnings to develop herself to the glory of God.”

After she retired, she and George moved to Sugar Hill, Georgia to be near their daughters and grandchildren.

Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Karen Johnson (Dennis), Miriam McCoy (John), and Marsena Vaughan (John), six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, sisters, Aletha Marcum (Steve) and Yvonne Terry (Rick) and many nieces and nephews. Rosemary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, a sister and a grandson.

Her Celebration of Life service is 1pm Friday, June 19, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, Louisville, Kentucky with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is after 11am Friday until the time of the service.

REFLECTIONS ON THE LIFE AND MINISTRY OF ROSEMARY BASHAM by Paula Pierpoint
Her beautiful soprano voice could be heard soaring lyrically above the chapel choir,
or ringing down the narrow hall of the Music Building, or resounding through the
tabernacle during Sea Breeze Camp Meeting. The name, Rosemary Basham, was
synonymous with Hobe Sound Bible College Music Department for many years.

As an educator, Mrs. Basham was an inspiring role model. She was an exemplar
musician, choral director, vocal instructor and vocal soloist. She taught and mentored
music students at HSBC for 17 years. Mrs. Basham worked selflessly and sacrificially,
instilling in her students a passion for music ministry and excellence in education.

Concerned not only for the academic well-being, but their spiritual welfare, she even
led early morning Bible Studies in her teaching studio in the Music Hall. She
encouraged her students to be into the Word and to read biographies of great
Christians. Her breadth of knowledge and wealth of experience in vocal music
education made her an invaluable leader and guiding light in the music department.

Mrs. Basham prayed with her students, she prepared them for a life of service and
she showed a personal interest in their lives outside the classroom. Little cards, notes
and small gifts of encouragement were shared with her students. She would eagerly
load up her little Volkswagon and take students to the opera or concerts. On one
occasion she invited a former student to travel with her in Europe. She invested heavily
in her students and saw potential in them which they often did not see.

Mrs. Basham firmly believed in ongoing professional development. Throughout her
life she continually read great books, educational journals, attended concerts and
conferences, aspiring to learning something new. She once led a group of music
majors to Atlanta to sit under the teaching of the great choral director, Robert Shaw.
Through her life and her example, she motivated her students to become the best they could be. At one point she expressed to a student that teaching was the most
wonderful profession, for it allows you to keep giving your life away and investing in
others, thereby reaping an eternal harvest.

Hobe Sound Bible College Music Department is grateful to be the recipient of the
music library of Mrs. Basham, an extensive collection of vocal music, vocal pedagogy
and conducting texts, devotional books, biographies and various educational materials.
But beyond her library, we are grateful for her radiant life of service to her Master
Conductor and to the students of Hobe Sound Bible College. While we feel your
absence here, we await the glorious reunion when your sopranos, altos, tenors and
basses will join with you in singing the “Hallelujah Chorus” on heaven’s golden shore!
