Our Media Specialist, Mrs. Barkauskas, recently had an amazing time at the Indiana Library Conference, where she even met bestselling author Jennifer Nielsen — and snapped a fun selfie with her!

She also brought back two signed books and donated them to our library for all of our RF students to enjoy.

Today, River Forest held our annual Veterans Day Assembly, a meaningful event for our students and staff. We appreciate the entire student body, who showed respect and reverence during this special ceremony.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Mr. John Klutts, River Forest graduate and Vietnam veteran, who kindly shared a letter and speech reflecting on his time in service and what it meant to him. Although he wasn’t able to attend in person, he was represented by his sister, Patty Klutts-Farthing.

We’d also like to recognize all of our students who helped make today special, including those who sang in the choir, read poems, played in the band, participated in the Flag Folding Presentation, and took part in the Dedication of the Wreath.

A special shoutout to Jaina for performing “Blowin’ In the Wind” and to Ruby for performing "Taps".

Our deepest appreciation goes out to the veterans who have attended River Forest, as well as those in our community and beyond. As we go through today, let’s take time to remember and honor all who have served. ❤

RF's Naomi received a near-perfect ribbon for her round—only two were awarded at the competition! Ms. Forsell and Mrs. Ramirez are so proud of our Ingots! 📚✨

Our talented RF Band students performed alongside the South Shore Brass Band this Sunday in Valparaiso! 🎶

These 8th and 9th graders had the incredible opportunity to play side-by-side with professional musicians and learn from the experience.
