Did you know?
On this day in 1814, a lawyer named Francis Scott Key wrote the words to the Star Spangled Banner after witnessing the Battle of Fort McHenry. His poem was later turned into a song and became our national anthem over 100 years later. Our fifth grade choir members helped us start off our week on the a great note by singing the Star Spangled Banner on our morning announcements!
