Week 2 of Summer Camp is underway, and the children are officially DEEP into play!

One of the greatest joys this summer has been watching the children fully embrace our much larger location. Compared to last year, they have so much more room to roam, explore, imagine, and create their own adventures. Every corner of the woods seems to hold a new possibility.

The different camp themes have inspired some incredible play, but one surprise has been just how much the children have loved the costumes! What started as a simple invitation has transformed into entire worlds of make-believe, storytelling, and collaboration.

Over the past few weeks, we've seen Tea Parties, Dragons loving tacos, treasure hunts winding through the woods, elaborate games of cops and robbers, mysterious missions, daring rescues, and countless adventures that only children could imagine. The play has become richer and more connected with each passing day.

Perhaps the most beautiful thing to witness has been the inclusiveness. Children of different ages are inviting one another into their games, sharing ideas, solving problems together, and creating space for everyone to belong. These are the moments that remind us why child-led outdoor play is so powerful.

We feel incredibly blessed to spend our days watching childhood unfold the way it was meant to—muddy, imaginative, adventurous, and filled with friendship.

From messy sensory play and imaginative adventures to fort building, mud kitchen creations, woodland exploration, and creek discoveries — every session brings new opportunities for creativity, connection, and outdoor fun.

✨ Wild Ones is designed for children ages 4–12 who thrive in child-led, nature-based play.
✨ Mixed ages encourage teamwork, leadership, and friendship.
✨ Children will explore, create, problem-solve, and build confidence in the great outdoors at beautiful Big Maple Lake Park!
