🍽️ WHAT’S COOKING AT THE BULLDOG CAFÉ?

Our menu for August 24–September 4 is here, and our Child Nutrition team has plenty planned for our Bulldogs! ❤️🖤

🐾 PLUS — HITCHCOCK HIGH SCHOOL HAS NEW OPTIONS!

HHS students will begin seeing additional choices on the Outtakes/Grab & Go line, and there’s something pretty cool happening behind the scenes: our students are helping drive the menu!

This week, students worked with the Child Nutrition team to test different cooking techniques and seasonings for upcoming Breaded Mozzarella Sticks. Their feedback will be brought back to the Child Nutrition staff as they decide how the new item will be prepared and served.

And yes — students CAN enjoy these additional items as part of their FREE reimbursable lunch! Students simply need to select at least 3 of the 5 meal components, with at least one being a fruit or vegetable, to create a qualifying meal.

Students can also purchase these items à la carte using funds in their PaySchools Central account.

📅🐾 NEW SCHOOL YEAR, NEW CALENDAR!

As we prepare to welcome our Bulldogs back on Tuesday, August 11, we want to remind students and families that Hitchcock ISD will begin our Modified Four-Day Instructional Week for the 2026–27 school year.

Here’s what families need to know:

❤️ Most Fridays will be student holidays but that begins in September.
🖤 The first Friday of each month will generally be a school day.
❤️ There are also strategic full weeks throughout the year, including August, December, January and May ("Strong Start, Strong Finish").
🖤 Select Fridays will be used for targeted academic support and enrichment.
❤️ The school day has been extended by approximately 15 minutes, so students receive the same required instructional minutes.

The easiest rule: Don’t assume Friday is off! Check the district calendar each week so you know when students are expected on campus.

🖤 Stewart Elementary: 3:00–4:00 p.m.
❤️ Crosby Middle School: 3:30–4:30 p.m.
🖤 Hitchcock High School: 4:00–5:00 p.m.
❤️ Hitchcock Primary: 5:00–6:00 p.m.

🚨 Bulldog Families — Don't Wait! 🚨

The first day of school is almost here! Make sure your student is ready for a successful start on Tuesday, August 11.

✅ Complete Registration
All student registration must be completed in Skyward before the first day of school. Students who are not fully registered may experience delays in starting school.

🚌 Need Bus Transportation?
Our Transportation Department is working hard to finalize routes. Families requesting bus transportation will begin receiving calls on August 3-4 with bus stop locations and estimated pick-up and drop-off times.

If your transportation needs have changed since registering, please contact your student's campus as soon as possible.

💉 Don't Forget Immunizations
Students must have all required immunizations on file with the school nurse before attending school.
