Today the Hiram College Archives welcomed a group of visiting high school students exploring the history of Greendale Couch Farm and its ongoing revitalization.

They examined historic maps to see how Hiram College and the surrounding community have changed over time, then read theough oral histories from Perry Green and his son, whose family owned Greendale Farm.

One of the highlights was a 1923 barnstorming adventure! With Perry Green's permission, a pilot used the farm as a landing strip to offer airplane rides. During one flight, the plane became lodged in a massive chestnut tree, and passenger Bob Reynard climbed safely back to the ground—becoming a local hero for weeks afterward!

We love sharing the stories, people, and places that bring our Hiram history to life.

Representing the Hiram College Library at Library Leadership Ohio! 🌲📖

As Director, I spent the last few days connecting, learning, and planning with other library leaders at LLO 2026. Ready to bring all this fresh inspiration back to campus!

We had an amazing time celebrating Terri Foy, our Circulation Officer, at her retirement party last week!

Terri began working at Hiram College in 1994 in the Development Office and moved to the Business Office when it was located in Garvin House. She then transitioned to the Hiram College Library, where she has been happily ensconced since 2001.
