Motivated by their own children’s struggles, The Village Tutors was formed in 2004 when a group of women, formerly known as The Reading Ladies, began to provide one-on-one, evidence-based support for grade-school students who struggled in reading. As these early students became middle school and high school students and their needs changed, the tutors expanded their services. Today, The Village Tu
tors continue to instruct and inspire all learners with full academic support in the areas of active and critical reading skills; analytical and academic writing; study strategies; executive functioning/homework help; all levels of math and science; academic enrichment; and AP/Honors curricula. The Village Tutors also offer standardized test prep as well as college essay writing and general college consulting. The Village Tutors provide personal support for students who range in age from preschool to college. They help families navigate the best possible educational paths for their traditional and non-traditional learners. "Please consider us a resource to help you meet your children’s academic and emotional needs. We have a network of professionals -- therapists, neuropsychologists, college consultants and diagnosticians -- whom we highly recommend. We firmly believe that with evidence-based support, along with compassion and kindness, all students can reach their academic potential." - Suzanne Petree, Founder
