South Shore Conservatory Summer Music Festival

South Shore Conservatory Summer Music Festival A summer music program for elementary - college aged students

South Shore Conservatory’s Summer Music Festival exposes students in middle school through college to a variety of musical art forms, and provides a comprehensive music education not found anywhere else in New England. SMF provides woodwind, brass and percussion students outstanding educational experience through study and performance of the finest wind and chamber ensemble literature. With the un

ique opportunity to participate in all three ensemble components of SMF, and through musicianship workshops, students enhance their listening skills, technical abilities, and overall musical sensitivities, in addition to being exposed to improvisation, composition and creative movement. The Conservatory’s state-of the art rehearsal and performance space, the Jane Carr Amphitheater, creates a professional atmosphere in which students can build musical confidence, knowing that the sound they hear during rehearsals will be the same sound they hear during a performance.
