A huge thank you to the Hinesburg Fire Department for spending time with our HCS staff as we prepared to welcome students back for a new school year!

Our staff had the opportunity to practice CPR, AED use, and how to respond to choking emergencies — important, potentially life-saving skills that we hope we never need to use, but are incredibly grateful to know.

The countdown is officially on, and we are so excited to welcome our Huskies back to school on Wednesday, August 26!

This special Back-to-School Edition of the Husky Highlights is packed with important information to help your family get ready for the start of the 2026–2027 school year. We know it’s a long one, but we promise it’s worth the read!

Inside, you’ll find information about morning arrival and afternoon dismissal, attendance procedures, bus transportation, health office updates, annual PowerSchool forms, fall athletics, school meals, volunteering at HCS, important upcoming dates, and much more.

You’ll also find details about our Classroom Sneak Peek and Ice Cream Social on Monday, August 24, which is a wonderful chance for students to visit their classrooms, meet their teachers, reconnect with friends, and get excited for the year ahead.

Please take a few minutes to read through the newsletter before the first day of school and hang onto it as a reference. There is a LOT of information here, and chances are, if you have a back-to-school question, the answer is somewhere in this edition!

CVSD’s Free Summer Meals Program runs from Thursday, June 25, through Thursday, August 13. Meal box pickups will begin on Thursday, June 25, at St. Jude’s Church in Hinesburg, from 7 to 11 a.m. or until all meal boxes are gone.
