Seasons Greeting Everybody,
Please mark your calendars to join us for a
- Damien ’81 Christmas Party
- Moanalua Golf Course Clubhouse (1250 Ala Aolani St)
- MONDAY December 18, 2023
- Monday night football Week 15: Dec. 18, Chiefs at Patriots!
We’re doing this simple, POTLUCK or bring something for the grill. If you know what you will bring, please let me know and I’ll post a roster of what’s coming in, that way we can minimize duplication. We can bring in the following:
- Whiskey & Scotch
- Water & Soft Drinks
As for beer, we’ll have to support the bar and purchase from there. Also, we’re not renting the room and if there are members within, let’s show Aloha and welcome them to our party. Kanoe mentioned that there are only 8 members that usually frequent the bar. It’ll be goodwill for us…and let’s not forget to include Kerry and to tip her.
For those of you that enjoy Christmas cheer, dressing up festive is encouraged.

The 2023 Damien Varsity Football Team thanking the class of 1981. Here is our appreciation message
Aloha AD Sueoka, Shar & Football Team Parents, and ILH Varsity & Intermediate Champions!
…a few words from the Damien ’81 alumni.
“Congratulations on the team's accomplishments for this season. How proud we are of this team and their legacy in DMHS history. Hold their heads high for what they have achieved because not many at DMHS have been as successful. What they have done to represent our school in Kalihi is something we all can be proud of.” (Louis Matautia – 1981 Senior Class President)
“Our class is from a time that the school was named “Damien Memorial High School” where the student body exceeded 800+ ages 14-18, all young men. It was also a time when “Viriliter Age” and its literal translation was to “Act Manfully”. Our education was not only academic, but it also taught us life lessons. Viriliter Age and its meaning then…was a guide and the motto had many applications. In the spirit of this saying, I share this as embracing an experience while working towards a way through challenges, on how to better one’s position to apply in future endeavors.
With that said, I echo Louis’ thoughts and look forward to our Damien youth having success not only in team sports but to be future leaders or outstanding citizens in the community.” (Irwin Santos – ’81 Reunion Organizer)
Best wishes to all of you from the Alumni Class of 1981.

For Russell…
This is a very sad moment in our lives. But, at this point in life it is a reality that we all face together. Take the time to enjoy loved ones, special occasions and each other. For those of us left from DMHS Class of 81 we must remember those that have moved on, celebrate with those that are still around and always remember...1981 was the last Senior Day at DMHS. Luv u all - Aloha
