We are the first ATOS Jiu Jitsu Association affiliate in the state of Hawaii. Follow our page for more details leading up to our grand opening in spring 2016! At Roma Jiu Jitsu Academy we provide modern jiu jitsu instruction in a positive and welcoming environment. We are a family oriented business focused on relationship building, goal setting and the health of the entire student/athlete. We stri

ve to be positive examples and role models, and set a high standard for every student. We are solely focused on the teaching of jiu jitsu according to the ATOS Jiu Jitsu curriculum. We are not an MMA gym. Our academy offers a professional, safe, clean and fun environment for students to learn, train and become more well rounded individuals. Kawika Yoneda is the owner and lead instructor at Roma Jiu Jitsu Academy. He is a brown belt under Professors Guilherme and Rafael Mendes of Art of Jiu Jitsu Academy in Newport Beach, CA.

Modified Schedule for August 31st - September 7th

Each year, our Academy participates in the IBJJF Jiu Jitsu CON and Masters Worlds tournaments in Las Vegas. This event takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and is the largest Jiu Jitsu tournament in the world with over 10,000 US and International competitors! This year, we are excited to again be representing Hilo and Roma JJA at this event.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our different fundraising efforts to help make this trip possible, and to everyone who trained hard alongside the competitors to help them prepare! It takes an entire team, and your support means so much!
