Well, it has been quite the year! The last several weeks entailed club elections, celebrations, the oath of office over our sacred book, Shakespeare in the Park/ EKH, and a whole lot of monkey business. Oh how we love our pickpocket, hotshot hacker Anthro. fam.
Farewell to those who are parting ways and flying beyond the walls of our department halls; may the urn and willow honor your memory (Deetz 1996: 115, 211). Thank you to everyone who made this year so meaningful, goofy, and joyous! We know there shall henceforth, never be a more iconic brass band.

Exciting news: your local UHH anthro. peeps are now intrepid travelers of lands beyond our Hilo home! Our anthropology huaka'i to Kaua'i was a truly unforgettable, unbelievably incredible and joyous experience. Mahalo to our hosts at the Koke'e CCC Barracks, to the Waimea community, and to the Friends of King Kaumuali'i for being so welcoming and gracious to our lil’ anthro. fam. A special thanks to our professors, who put up with our over-energetic, giggly selves for three whole days. We learned so much and are grateful beyond words.

The Kūikapiko Anthropology Club had a wicked time celebrating Halloween with a pizza party-potluck shindig. We partook in a variety of foods while watching Raiders of the Lost Ark. And as the saying goes, “you ain’t lived until you’ve watched Indy on the big screen with a bunch of hyper judgemental anthropologists.”

Happy National Crush a Can Day!!
Kūikapiko was honored and thrilled to celebrate this recycling holiday through a campus HI-5 club fundraiser.
We had a grand ol’ time (very safely) digging through the bins of midden in pursuit of wayward recyclables.
