As I try to mentally prepare for going back to work tomorrow for Kindergarten testing (it’s so early!), I’m reflecting on my summer break. This year we went to Hawaii and it was truly magical! It was filled with all of my favorites… long hikes, beach time, sea turtles, Hawaiian margaritas and lots of laughs!

Our hearts ache for the lives lost today at Covenant School in Nashville. This gun violence has to end. What are we doing to our poor children? They are our most precious resource and yet we are failing to protect them.

One of our students with behavioral challenges loves and the affirmations on . We made a chart for him that has totally motivated him to turn his behavior around!!! When he follows the classroom routine and is on task, he can Velcro on a Snoop. When he earns all of the Snoops on his chart, he gets a break to watch Doogyland videos on YouTube. Thank you so much for your positive influence on children Snoop! You have truly made a difference!

My students loved making these adorable word gardens using the Fluency Flowers freebie from the Institute for Multisensory Education ! I differentiated for each reading group: Kinder- cvc words, 1st- blends, 2nd- suffixes, and 3rd- prefixes.
